I want to share with you a list of over 15 things that I cut out to help save me thousands of dollars each month!

Now don’t get me wrong, I love treating myself, but instead of actually spending money on things I actually wanted and liked, I realized I was spending money on a ton of silly little things.

So here we go, 15 things I quit buying (which saved me THOUSANDS!):

Starbucks / Expensive Coffee

Y’all… Let me just get this off my chest. I was spending $5 every week day to buy a pink drink from Starbucks.

FIVE DOLLARS EVERY WEEK DAY

Whew…..

$5 * 5 = $25 a week..

$25 * 4 = $100 A MONTH FOR PINK DRINKS!

Total Yearly Savings: $600

Cable

I cut the cord! We were paying $90/month for cable! We switched over to just Hulu ($12/month ish), saving us $78 a month!

There’s tons of shows there, and I honestly don’t miss cable at all.

Total Yearly Savings: $936

Manicures & Pedicures

I’m super happy I cut this one out actually. I was paying $50 for a manicure and pedicure every month (not including the tip)!

When I want my nails done I usually just get some cheap nail polish from Walmart and do it myself.

Total Yearly Savings: $600

Physical Books

I used to love going to bookstores and getting a stack of books to read. My husband and I would go at least twice a month!

I’d probably was spending about $50 a trip?

I decided to try out Kindle unlimited recently (unlimited ebooks and magazines for $10/month!) and I’m probably never going back!

Total Yearly Savings: $1080

Gym Memberships

I used to spend almost $30/month on a membership at Anytime Fitness!

Just do yourself a favor and lookup Blogilates on Youtube. FREE workouts!

Total Yearly Savings: $360

Makeup

Okay so I pretty much had the inside of my local Sephora and Ulta memorzie.

I was in there A LOT.

Constantly buying new makeup… That I uh, mostly didn’t wear.

I committed to buying only the things I needed and actually wore, and this helped me save a ton!

Here’s all that I buy:

  • Mascara
  • Lip gloss
  • Eye shadow

Yep that’s it. Total minimalist makeup routine!

Total Yearly Savings: $600

Going Out To Eat

I cut this out Just kidding. I love eating out, and that’s never going to change. I cut other things out of my budget so I can do more of the things I love!

That includes going to restaurants and keeping UberEats and DoorDash in business.

Total Yearly Savings: $0

Other Things To Consider

Here are some other items to consider cutting out!

  • Bottled Water
  • Home Decor Items (how many decorative baskets do you NEED woman!)
  • Scratch-offs (when was the last time you actually won a good amount? exactly)
  • Expensive meal kits (Blue Apron I’m looking at you)
  • Magazine subscriptions
  • Premade spice mixes (You can make your own. It’s not that hard, I promise.
